In 2024, our founder moved to Oʻahu with a one-way ticket, seeking a fresh start to build a life of her own.
Originally, she was supposed to meet a group of people there for a reunion, but at the last minute, they all decided to back out. Regardless, she took a leap of faith to the Hawaiian Islands.
She left behind the chaos she knew and stepped into a complete unknown.
She found a room for rent on Facebook Marketplace and took a chance, hoping to find stability.
Instead, she found herself entering a new kind of chaos.
What followed was an endless cycle of moving from one Facebook Marketplace room-for-rent to the next. Leaving one chaotic living environment behind, make a brash decision out of desperation to find a new roof over her head, and find herself stepping into yet another unfamiliar space, surrounded by unpredictable people, hoping that this time, she had finally found the safety and peace she so desperately craved.
Over the course of 2 years on island, she moved more than 16 times.
Each move represented another attempt to find safety.
Another attempt to start over.
Another hope that this time would be different.
But the constant instability began affecting every area of her life.
Moving from place to place made it difficult to maintain consistency, keep a job, manage finances, build relationships, take care of her health, and perform at the level she knew she was capable of. There were few opportunities to truly rest, recover, or regulate her nervous system because the environment around her was constantly changing or disrupting her sense of wellbeing.
She was trying to build a life while simultaneously trying to find somewhere safe to live.
Throughout those seasons, she experienced financial hardship, physical injury, hospitalizations, health challenges, trauma, unhealthy relationships, unsafe living conditions, and, at times, homelessness.
She began to understand something that would ultimately shape her entire vision:
Leaving one unhealthy environment does not necessarily mean the cycle has been broken.
Sometimes, the patterns we are trying to escape can follow us.
Breaking the cycle requires more than a new address.
It requires safety.
It requires stability.
It requires self-awareness.
It requires accountability.
Our founder also came to understand how difficult it is to pursue your purpose when you're carrying the weight of the past while simultaneously trying to survive the present.
When you're worried about where you're going to sleep, where you're going to live next, how you're going to get to work, how you're going to pay your bills, or how you're going to recover from the latest crisis, it becomes difficult to think beyond survival.
Through her own experience, she realized that what young adults need is more than a safe space.
They need a foundation.
A foundation where they can stabilize their lives, maintain employment, save money, develop healthy routines, build life skills, establish boundaries, take accountability, and begin preparing for true independence.
A place where young adults would not have to carry the full weight of their past while simultaneously learning to navigate societal systems and pursue their goals alone.
A place where they can breathe.
A place to Reset the nervous system and rediscover a sense of safety.
A place to Revive the spirit through movement, wellness, connection, and holistic healing.
A place to Rebirth one's identity through the transformation of mind, body, and spirit.
That vision became The House of Samsara.

What we Do
We provide six months of expense-free housing as the foundation to transform, followed by an optional, flexible transition period of up to six additional months in the house to support each resident’s path toward independence. In addition, each resident will receive personalized mentorship aligned with their individual goals.
Our House. Our Standards.
Choosing to enter the House of Samsara means choosing to uphold our standards. Commitment to these standards is how young adults pay their cost of living.
Our community is built on our values: respect, compassion, individuality, wellness, growth, discipline, and community. Every resident commits to:
Sobriety
Monthly blood testing
Weekly strength and endurance training
Daily yoga
Financial literacy sessions
Therapy sessions
Wellness restoration
Having employment, actively seeking employment, and/or enrolled in an educational or continuing education program
Maintaining organic, whole nutrition
Community involvement
Respected morning and evening hours
Clear communication, mutual respect, and a commitment to being an active part of the house team and culture
Upholding these standards is a condition of living in the House of Samsara. Those who do not uphold them will no longer have access to our House. When this occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to support the resident in planning an appropriate departure and facilitating a safe transition to another living environment.
We hold these standards because our house is more than a place to live.
It is a community, a commitment, and a shared environment for transformation.
